Im pretty sure i already have a good hack so dreamscene will install but what i need is a way to actually install dreamscene on my vista home premium. Normaly, with vista ultimate, I could just go to windows update to install it but scince i have home premium i dont have acces to vista extras under windows update so where can I download the actual dreamscene software? Best Answer: Ok you are gonna need the setup files. U mite be able to find this somwhere on google or limewire but ur best bet is a torrent (utorrent). Thats how i got it. Once u get that install it a reboot if u have to.
It should install fine but it wont b active. You wont be able to see anywhere on you computer that u have dreamscene except maybe a menu option when you right click your desktop that says 'Pause Windows dreamscene' but u wont be able to click on that.
Thats what u want thoguh. Ok next your gonna need the patch.
Windows Vista Home Premium
On that site you'll find a link to the patch files and instructions on how to use them. Reboot after u do that. There is an automatic way that will patch it for you in a few seconds. This didnt work for me though. Even thoguh it said it was succesful.
So if u still cant use dreamscene after the automatic one then follow the manual instructions on that page. They are good and not too complicated and should only take u a few mins. Note: If when u go to do steps 2 and 3 to copy the files and Vista tells u that the files already exist then those are fine just leave those files and skip those two steps. Also, in step 19, 'import and merge DreamScene.reg to registry,' all you do for that is right click the Dreamscene.reg file ( Its the file that has 'Registration Entries' under the type column) and click either Merge or Open whichever one it says and says yes/ok to all the prompts. Make sure to reboot after all that and ur done. Dreamscene should be goodl now After patching, right click on any blank space on Desktop, select “Personalize”, then click on “Desktop Background”.
Under location, select “Windows DreamScene Content”, and then select a animated video you want. You can get some of the official windows dreamscene wallpapers from utorrent.
